Two years after Hailey fell in love with Nick Hensley when her family reunited for her sister Alyssa’s wedding at the Cedar Mountain Lodge, Hailey is happily married to him and living on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
Nick teaches guitar and is studying for an advanced degree in music at a local university, and is playing with his band in Ybor City and other spots in the Tampa area. Hailey continues her work writing and illustrating children’s books while trying to deal with her disappointment at not yet being pregnant.
For the first time, she and Nick are not celebrating Christmas in Granite Ridge, and when something shattering happens on that day, Hailey is left to wonder if it’s all part of a bigger plan. She and her sister, Alyssa, the two youngest of the sisters, have remained in close touch and have planned a girl’s weekend in the beginning of April, where even more surprises unfold.
